Each September, the student editors post a request for submissions from any currently-enrolled ECU student, including graduate and concurrent students. Originals accepts submissions in the genres of fiction, creative nonfiction, plays, film and TV scripts, poetry, and visual art. Specific details concerning length, format, number of submissions, and presentations of visual art change from year to year. Students are encouraged to note the guidelines posted each fall on the call for submissions.

Written submissions are emailed to the faculty advisor of Originals, Dr. Joshua Grasso. Please direct all questions to Dr. Joshua Grasso through email or by phone. Student editors make all editorial decisions regarding Originals and assemble the magazine by the end of the fall term. Printed copies of Originals are available in March of each year. All contributors receive one free copy.
